and to add to the fantasy selection(bcs i can't stop giving options once I start, apparently :3c) the Penric and Desdemona stories by Lois McMaster-Bujold offer a slighly higher fantasy setting and often do have that 'solving a case' vibe. (also they're just very nice. and short.)

ooh if sci-fi is also cool then check out Mur Lafferty - I've read(and like and recommend) Six Wakes. The Midsolar Murders is. Well, detective stories in space. Haven't read those though so can't vouch.

aaand the one so obvious i forgot: Murders at Karlov Manor(by McGuire again), the MtG tie-in story from a few years back(also i don't think i ever finished reading this :0 ) magic.wizards.com/en/news/magi...
Murders at Karlov Manor | Episode 1: Ghosts of Our Past
Kaya returns to Ravnica just in time for a grand celebration—but not everyone will be leaving Teysa Karlov's lavish manor alive.

Teamaster and the Detective by Aliette de Bodard but it's DEFINITELY sci-fi(but it is a take on Holmes & Watson). de Bodard also has a gothic fantasy series(Dominion of the Fallen) set in Paris but I haven't read that. It has some spin-off stories(Dragons and Blades) that MIGHT hit the spot afaik?

i SWEAR high fantasy murder mysteries exist(likely of the cozy variety) but all i can think of are two urban fantasy series(October Daye by Seanan McGuire and The Dresden Files(bit more noir) by Jim Butcher) and Master of Djinn by P. Djèlí Clark(steampunk fantasy set in Cairo, has a prequel novella)
