Any mil support for PRC, whether it's tech & training from Russia, mil & surveillance tech from Israel, or unintended 'help' via lax security and oversight is ultimately in part or in whole helping towards the PRC's goal of annexing Taiwan. Ominous signs.

Don't slap Taiwan to appease China to make a deal, we said. They'll take that as a new baseline for negotiations, then add another demand on top. And the deal you'll get in the end will entail you giving up your red lines/goals whilst the PRC keep theirs.

Good to see Taiwan and the UK deepen cooperation in this sphere. The UK desperately needs to improve its skills in this area. For a full list of all contemporary TW-UK MOUs and agreements please visit our In Westminster page.

We are cautiously pleased to hear the Defence Secretary signal that the UK would deploy our military to work with allies if they came to Taiwan's defence. Our concern is this still leaves UK commitment to Taiwan conditional rather than on principle - taiwanpolicycentre.com/wp-content/u...

As a basic issue of national security, especially given how PRC embassy personnel have spied on assaulted opponents in the UK in the recent past, the Government must reject the plans for the new PRC embassy in London.

Thanks to everyone who has provided support & advice as we celebrate our 5th year since establishment. We sense a growing awareness in Parliament of the importance of Taiwan to global peace, & the economic security of the UK. We continue our work to guide UK towards a clear coherent Taiwan policy.
