Ahti brings him clarity vs the darkness of Scratch. And when he says his name, it sounds like it’s authentically accented as Finnish. I think Wake is ethnically Finnish and he’s just totally surprised that part of himself.

It may be his legal name now, but after AW2 I’m thinking it’s actually a fake/pen name. I think he quite literally is Thomas Seine. There’s a beautiful little soliloquy Ahti recites at the end of the game about the nature of himself and when he’s done Alan thanks him by name.

He’s lying about that age like he’s lying about that name. (Not sure I ever told you my pen name theory.)

There’s some debate as to when RE9 takes place. “About 30 years after RE1” *should* be 2028 and if it’s the holiday season… he’s 52.

Also, I do not believe Wake is only 32 in that first game + time fluctuates in the dark place ergo he’s 40 in AW1, 53 in AW2. These guys are on their last legs!!!

He’s 52. Alan Wake is 47 (though I’m convinced Remedy is lying… he should be around 52-3 himself.) And that’s old. Source: It rankled my father when I started calling him “my old man” in HS.

The beginning of Control is you stepping out of the conventional world and into the Oldest House. The beginning of this game looks like it's you leaving the Oldest House for Manhattan. So we already have a mirroring of the first game.

I think they’re totally in the pocket to make something great. There’s so much stuff they do that’s not even in that trailer too. Beyond thrilled.

I know it's a bummer for some people Jesse isn't the lead character and I was hoping for her too, but my thing is that I trust the team implicitly. I think Jesse and Saga were great leads. I love Alan Wake. He is a hack writer, a terrible husband, and somehow one of our best leads. It'll be fine.
