Morning, Australia - a bunch of articles from media outlets claiming Aus is now on track to hit its 2030 emissions target.

No reports, data, projections details or analysis to back it up.

The analysis shows Australian emissions are projected to be 42.6% below 2005 levels in 2030. The government has released the new numbers ahead of Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen’s Thursday annual climate change statement to parliament. They show total net emissions are projected to be 3% below Australia’s 10-year planned carbon reduction budget. This means Australia would over-achieve the 2030 target on the budget basis. That compares to 1% above the budget projected last year.
