Looking at some cute Shetland rams at WS&WF Touching one of many fabulous fleeces at WS&WF The fleece haul from WS&WF. One very white Corriedale from Rose the sheep, one BFL & Teeswater cross with an impressively long staple length and gorgeous color and a scruffy but incredibly fine California Variegated Mutant. I learned the CVMs are a conservation breed too! The insane 6in staple length on the dark BFL Teeswater crossbreed.

Based on a #Booksky recommendation I borrowed a Barbara Comyns book from the library and absolutely loved it! 📚So I was itching to get another and recognized the cover of The Vet’s Daughter…it was already on my shelf. I have a habit of buying NYRBs because they’re pretty. I’m going to read this one!

Took advantage of the warm albeit windy weather to get some wool picking done outside and do a little exploring of Evanston, which included a bike shop, book shop, plant shop and of course a wonderful yarn shop 🧶

Finished just in time for some 78 degree weather 🤦‍♀️ Basically knit this twice after finding an unforgivable error after blocking the first time. Ripped it back got a nice cup of tea and started to redo it. Worth it 🧶

My current WIPs. The Esther Jacket by Petiteknit & a toddler sweater made with some of my handyed that I’m working to get off sleeve island. I think I learned my lesson, I will not try two color brioche without a pattern again. Doing it in the round has caused some major twist.🧶

Finished my mom’s birthday sweater just in time! My dads’s sweater was a Christmas gift that thankfully now fits after a good blocking. His sweater was a labor of love that was finished on x-mas eve and was a bit of a belly shirt pre blocking. ❤️🫶❤️hand-knit sweater gifts 🎁

My fiber journey started just a year ago. I’d been an avid knitter and had stumbled into spinning and thought maybe the Suffolk sheep on the farm I grew up on,Tamarack Farm, were more than just market sheep. Now a lot of spindles and fiber prep tools later I don’t know why I didn’t start sooner!🐑🧶
