Nobody will remember him in a year from now, his wife will continue with her political vaudeville for a while longer, but then life will catch up with her.

Comparisons with Hitler abound, but Miller and co. really follow the Lenin and Stalin playbook.

Every person on earth will be mandated to give 100 USD to Altman each month. Development must not stop!

My favorite cartoon strip, Peanuts, was introduced to the world on October 2nd, 1950. Today we celebrate 75 years of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the beloved Peanuts gang. #HappyBirthday

Also, Coates is simply smarter than Klein.

My family and I have lived through several authoritarian turns and believe me: that does not happen. People forget swiftly, they move on, shapeshift and carry on regardless. Half of the current leadership in Hungary used to be members of the Communist Party and the former secret service.

Money before principles, I guess.

Coates is just so much smarter, more compassionate and authentic, so that Klein is simply no match to him with his clumsy wordsmithing and whataboutism.

Klein has, over the years, been consumed by the common faith of pundits and successful journalists (and politicians): he has been locked into his self-love, blinded by his narcissism and isolated from reality. Admitting errors would ultimately damage the brand that he has become.

Even otherwise ruthlessly pro-market and turbocapitalist @profgalloway.com called this a “late-stage bubble” yesterday. It will not end well.

We’ll see who has the better compromats. So far, the Russians seem to be winning: they have been completely controlling Orbán for years.

As a Hungarian gay, I am yet to see the Hungarian LGBTQ lobby to show its face. Experience shows that it is even difficult for more than four gays to stay in the same room without tearing into each other immediately.
It is time for Semlyén to disapear forever.

💥Yesterday in Hungary’s parliament, Viktor Orbán ally Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén suddenly stood to deny rumors—never even addressed to him directly—linking him to a scandal over the sexual exploitation of teens from a children’s home.

He hinted he’s targeted by the “LGBTQ lobby’s” revenge.

Look at the absolute ruin that the Hungarian economy has become. Astronomical prices, literal poverty in the countryside, a completely dysfunctional industry with oligarchs that are hopelessly unable to compete with anyone outside the country, and on and on.

Finally someone notices! Autocracies and kleptocracies are bad for the economy.
