I first heard @tamikabutler.bsky.social speak in 2016—we had the chance to
work together after that—and I told anyone within earshot to hear her speak today at #yimbytown. I’m glad she’s here and will leave with a lot to
think about ⬇️
Our afternoon keynote features @tamikabutler.bsky.social!

tamika is national expert on the built environment, equity, anti-racism, and more.

Still pinching myself that I’m being honored with this incredible group of women. It might be a mistake…but I’m going with it. If you have the funds, support this amazing org, the California Black Women's Health Project!

Due to some health stuff, I can’t make the ride. But I’m committed to raise money for the @lalgbtcenter.bsky.social & support my Rider Dykes teammates. If you have a little space to give and support the queer community, please visit giving.aidslifecycle.org/participant/45844profile and give!

Safe in LA but thinking of my people who are evacuating, losing homes, sleeping outside, & need support. It's easy to look west and think it's all rich folks who can make it, but that's not all of LA and it doesn't matter. Losing so much is traumatic and devastating. Reach out and check in on folks.

Yes! People don’t always just want to hear you sell them a bill of goods. They want to hear the truth and sometimes it’s that you just don’t know. Build trust thru honesty and transparency.
A single sentence, that if embraced by urbanists, mayors, city councillors & the dude who works in finance but is convinced he intuitively knows how to design a street, would greatly improve cities. This sentence would also make community engagement sessions far more productive.

Early this morning, an autonomous group of New Yorkers reclaimed an F train car, replacing ads with signage reading “A MAN WAS LYNCHED HERE” and Jordan Neely’s name, as a jury deliberates over whether to convict Daniel Penny, Neely’s killer, with his death last May.
