Positive Shit Disturber on a mission to make the world safe for truth, learning, and decency.
Our shopping options are all flavours of bland.

All the interesting, unique, and fun is being erased in the rush to be the safe 'blah' choice.

No one loves it, no one really hates it, they just tolerate it.

If you don't want to be lost in the 'whatever' do / make something memorable.

We are living in a fucked up and scary time.

Every choice we make is a vote for the type of world we want to live in.

Choosing how we do business and who we do business with is a vote for the type of world we want to live in.

Make your choices deliberately. We are all in this shit show together.

Corporations are in a race to the bottom in search of squeezing every last penny out of their customers & employees.

If you are looking for quality & 'give a damn' find a small business.

Entrepreneurs put in the effort to win & keep customers.

Choose carefully.

One of the biggest factors in your success or failure is who you surround yourself with.

Waste your time with negative, nasty people you will sink to their level.

Invest your time with decent people that encourage you and work on improving themselves you will rise to their level.

Choose carefully

Bad stuff can happen in the blink of an eye.

Good things on the other hand take time.

Getting into shape takes time.

Nurturing a relationship takes time.

Learning a new skill takes time.

Building a business takes time.

Good things take time and effort.

Exercise is the key to sanity and success.

Hitting the gym is amazing, but it isn't the only thing.

Make a point of getting up and moving around every 30 minutes.

Sitting too long is horrible for your health.

We are barely past Christmas & the thrift stores are already filling up with AI created crap that was gifted over the holidays.

Stuff that looked good on social media, but the reality left the recipients thinking "this is awful"

Anyone can slap together cheap crap and market it to the masses.

Overnight success is about as likely as winning the lottery.

And anyone trying to sell you instant, easy success is conning you.

Building a business takes time, and learning, and consistent, persistent effort.

It is a journey worth taking, but it is an ultra-marathon, not a sprint.

AI can be used for good or evil.

AI can be a tool to help you grow your business and leverage your brilliance.

Use it ethically and deliberately, not to replace thinking, but to speed up doing.

Building a business takes time and effort.

Some days and weeks you will be in flow.

Others you will only be able to do the bare minimum.

But the important part is keeping going even when the going is slow.

You can tell the height of any skyscraper by the depth of the hole for the foundation.

Building the supports underground takes time and effort, but this is what allows the tower to be built and to stay up.

Without a strong foundation, a gentle wind will topple the tower.

Do not waste time and effort trying to appeal to everyone.

Be who you are and be loud and proud about what your values are.

Our job is to be a shining light to our tribe.

The first Monday of 2026 and the New Year's Resolutions are in full force.

Success isn't about perfection, it's about perseverance.

Do what you can with the time and energy you have each day.

Put in the imperfect work.
January 6, 2026 at 6:45 AM
Treat 2026 like a savings account, not a lottery ticket.

Luck does play a part in success, but only after you have put in the work.

Small steps taken day in and day out will get you across the finish line.

The Success Principles is one of my favourite books and it is the first book I read every year.

Jack Canfield and Janet Switzer have put together the Cole’s Notes for building a successful and fulfilling life.

Read it or listen to it if you want to start your 2026 on the path to success.

'Tis the season for New Year's Resolutions and I encourage you to just say NO!

Resolutions never last because the moment you stumble and are less than perfect most people give up.

Goals on the other hand don't care about perfect execution they care about imperfect progress.

Goals over resolutions

Happy New Year!
We survived 2025 and actually ended on a positive trajectory. Good people are winning elections and good businesses are growing.
Wishing us all a successful, sane, and progressive 2026!

Mega corporations caving to the Reich Wing fascists taking over the White House and cancelling their DEI programs is more than cowardice it is stupidity in action. The world is diverse and smart and successful companies realize that and embrace it. Another proof that we need more entrepreneurs.

Every day when we see the latest horrors on the news it is so tempting to just turn it off & give up. We need to protect our sanity & our hope because the world needs us more than ever. Take a break & then dust yourself off. This is going to be an ultra-marathon & we can win if we stay in the game.

Mark Zuckerberg is busy trying to convince people that his getting rid of Fact Checkers is a good thing, but it doesn't matter how much candy coating you put on a road apple, it is still shit at the core.

Truth is still truth and lies are still lies. We have a duty to stand for what is right.
January 9, 2025 at 4:20 AM
With more multi-national corporations getting away from pretending they care about anything other than their profits it is even more vital that we as small business owners share and live our values. The world NEEDS decent, honest business people. What we do and how we do it MATTERS.
January 8, 2025 at 6:54 AM
Resolutions are a joke. They are all about being perfect. And since no one is perfect they usually fall by the wayside before the end of January. Goals are all about the end destination. They do not expect perfect, just determination and effort to stay on the path.

I don't know about anyone else, but my new favourite song is "My Axe" by Insane Clown Posse. It reminds me what we need to do to get through the next few years.

Glad to be part of a healthy community that supports one another and is friends with facts and decency. Looking forward to being part of the "woke" movement.
