Friends, a long time dear friend of mine has her first published work, wonderful and humorous CNF. It’s a quick read if you have a moment. She’s not on this platform but I’ll send her any comments. 💙🙏

manuscript out of a window.

While Beowulf was one of the lucky few to survive the fire, it still carries the scorch marks of that night.

It was another 55 years before a second copy of the poem was transcribed and we realized just how old and special it really is!

We almost lost the Middle-English Poem Beowulf to fire!

Buried in the private Cotton library, the only copy of Beowulf was never truly studied.

Then in 1731, a fire destroyed Ashburnham House & most of the library. In a desperate attempt to save the codex a heroic librarian flung the smoking ⬇️

Apparently a groundskeeper wanted to keep them from going extinct so imported 10 of them from Canada in 1961. Today they’re the unofficial mascot on campus.

Though I have to say, I like my story, better!

When I went to Kent State, the story was our black squirrels came from an experiment on campus gone wrong, leading to a few of the squirrels escaping only to interbreed with a local population and introduced black squirrels to the area.

Today, I found out that’s not true. ⬇️

Love ‘em, like always! Someone should do a museum display of old horror covers. I bet there’s some interesting lessons in there.

Horror novel covers from yesteryear. Sometimes evil can spread like a virus especially when it exists in a state that is not easily detected. Suppose it's a liquid & the ooze is in you reshaping who you are? A monstrous lobotomy that might be an improvement! 💙📚🧟‍♀️🔪🙀
