Book bans are (for now) by area, so even when it is assigned reading for schools in one state, it might be banned in schools the next state over.

Standing and intent haven't always mattered as much as they should. Especially in the past few years of cases being manufactured and shopped around for the right judge. I hope it makes a difference here at least.

I suspect the point with this, just like with that "AI" actress, is to have total control over (the image of) someone without the inconvenience* of interacting with other humans.

*them having rights, feelings, autonomy, not always agreeing with you, not wanting to be your slave, etc

And yet, "wishing ill" on a person whose active spreading of hatred damages communities and risks lives gets you suspended while the people spreading that damage and hatred are protected for "just expressing an opinion".
I like Bluesky, but you have to stand for what is right, not just what is easy.

While I'm sure there were many players who had those gloves the very first moment it was possible, I would not say *most* GW2 players would think your time-to-gloves embarassingly slow. Most players I've encountered in these weeks have been extremely helpful to those newer to groups or fractals.

Unfortunately, making it part of a regulation or something could backfire. Because you know the real bad actors would leave the label off anyway and then it might seem more legit to some people because "well, if it was AI it would *need* to be labeled, so no label means it is real!"

At this point, they'd probably claim protests are terrorism. But yeah, even adding all that in, the graph certainly does them no favors.

I'll also never understand the "you called us nazis so that FORCED us to act like nazis" excuse. So many of their lines echo what domestic abusers would say.

My fear on what will happen is twofold. First, that enough on the left still think this is some kind of rational, civil negotiation they can manage. Second, that even if they get the funding they want, this executive will just claw it back in defiance of any future court order. Times are not normal.

I already knew this, but over the past weeks it is really becoming clear that many people (mostly on the conservative side, but not exclusively) either don't know what debate is or willfully ignore what it is to make up their own rules. Bullying is not debate and leaving bullying behind is not bad.
