I think yuri as a genre really needs to have more series that avoid the usual route of high school/office romance and try to add more different stuff.

Like, what about the romance of two women that play football on the same team? Or the romance of a boxer and a fan? Or something more different?

It's so puzzling to me how bigots got so much into Signalis to the point of trying to take over a great part of the fandom and try to erase its queerness.

It's not even the fault of corporations, this was the goverment's doing just like before. The corporations are just adding another type of nastiness, same with all the criminal organizations.

And people just make their lives work and live. Culture exists despite it all.

That's a thing I want to do with my Cyberpunk games, specially with them being set in Rio.

Imagine a Rio de Janeiro that's been rebuilt but there's less infrastructure than before, the police is more violent than before, the poor are still mistreated, all of the problems of today but made worse.

IT CAN STILL BE COOL! IT SHOULD STILL BE COOL! cyberpunk is a genre that thrives in the intersection of cool and depressing, and much like mecha that means it lends itself extremely well to over-the-top allegory! you just have to do that in a way that's relevant to now, not 50 years ago!

Anyone who's into this kind of hell will probably enjoy Cradle in UCD part 2, it's a hyperdense megacity but its inhabitants and designers can't let go of single family homes and backyards so towers are built that layer suburbs vertically

the trouble with cyberpunk dystopias is that everyone living in a giant superdense city is a fucking dream compared to what we have. you need cyberpunk suburbia. a million identical houses stretching beyond the horizon.
