By contrast, the relationship Democrats have with their voters is one in which the voters are supposed to be grateful that their reps at least aren't Republicans because there's nothing else in particular they're supposed to accomplish.
The pressures in the Democratic Party are not comparable; this is palpable in the way the parties communicate with their voters. "You should have voted for us" isn't a thing Republicans say when they lose; they can't. Even before Trump, they suggested elections were bought or rigged somehow.
Even the laziest, most useless, no-name Republican back-bencher in the House understands that they have to do their part to establish conservative dominion over the United States or at least be perceived as such lest conservative media and movement orgs come for them.

We woke up this morning to ICE raids in Denver.
The kids ditched classes to join up in mass. Pictures of the capital don't do it justice, people were marching in a loop chanting Fuck Trump and deport Elon.

They all start at 12 noon. I would arrive in time to find parking and check out a list of items to bring. There are quite a few circulating. Water, snacks, wear basic clothing ( no bright colors or logos), cover tattoos, face mask. Don’t let anyone provoke you. Stay safe!
