I know there’s a lot of people who need a lot of help these days, but what was done to that family was truly heinous, so if you have some room in your budget please consider helping them out if you can.

I had to adjust the pattern for a novella-sized paperback. A sleeve for a slim 8.5” x 5” paperback required I cast on 37 stitches, for instance.

In my defense, this was the first time I did the I-cord bind off.

I did mean for the opening to be a little smaller than the width of the sleeve itself just to keep the book from slipping out accidentally in case I decided to skip the loop and button. But I think I made it too small — the opening ended up just wide enough to slip the book in.

I think I made the i-cord edge of the opening a tad tight oops. My tension was just all over the place, but it’s nothing a good wet block won’t fix I think.

All in all, I’m happy with the pattern. Will definitely make it again. 🧶
