We use more illegal websites to stream at home for sure because a lot of people don’t have the huge TVs (smaller apartments), watch on devices more, and I think many Europeans wince at monthly memberships more than the occasional movie ticket but that’s just a gut feeling.

In Europe theaters are still somewhat affordable. People still go. I don’t know the data but I paid €10.50 to see Eddington this weekend in an arthouse cinema in the center of Vienna. A small popcorn was like €4. Would not be surprised if government subsidies for the arts here make that possible.
