The Sherman Crocodile, an M4A4 modified to have a flame thrower attached to the Hull, fuel tanks were inside a trailer behind the vehicle while a fuel line went alongside the tank. The flame thrower was controlled by the hull machine gunner, able to aim it up down and left and right. #History #WW2

The Israeli M51. An attempt at modernizing the Sherman. With its bigger gun and modern ammo. It could punch through tanks of its age with ease. Also known as the “Super Sherman” unofficially. Unlike the Yugoslavian tank from yesterday. Around 300 were built and actually saw combat in 1956 - 1985

The SO-122. Yugoslavians decided to modify a Sherman by putting modified Russian T-34 engines into it and slapping a giant 122mm cannon into a turret. Only one was made as a prototype and this is the only confirmed photo of it. “Stop gap” tanks are so interesting.

The Sherman M4A2. If you asked someone to draw a tank. This is most likely what they’ll come up with. The wielded hull and cast turret helps give it an iconic look. Serving on both the eastern front and pacific theater. It’s High Explosive was one of the most effective tank rounds in WW2

Starting this account off strong with the big boy himself, the M4A3E2 “jumbo” This one in particular was one of the first to enter the sieged town of Bastogne during the battle of the bulge. Of course they had to brag about being the first in, wouldn’t you?
