Nope.

Since the reaction to our own work is v. positive, my communications were fine. I gave the branding a fair shake - staying neutral (you can't trick people into liking a logo). The reactions help me initiate conversations internally. I don't think I could have done it much better.

For those wondering, this is exactly the reason I wanted to soft-launch the branding: to give me time to deliver the feedback to the creators. Beyond that, I'm incredibly pleased by the reaction to my own team's work.

If you can get past the terrible logo, Audacity 4 looks pretty great

Over 25 years Audacity has gone from simple audio editor, to a UX nightmare. If you can get past the terrible logo, version 4 looks like it might fix that.

We'll see with user-testing but I doubt they will prove to be confusing for most. And if they are, it will be a momentary confusion. If I'm wrong, we'll change it.

MuseScore Studio 4.6. Here's a little preview of a new system we've added that lets you manually hide staves.

So glad we've finally got this change in. MSS was unfinished without it. Now, our focus will be on major big things for 5.0.

I like this shop.

Manky looking goat head made of ancient wool-looking material, mounted on a wall. I think the horns are real though, so it looks like a mixture between a stoned taxidermist monstrosity and a cute looking curiosity from kindergarten craft day.

A ragged and dirty looking doll of Homer Simpson made from - again - I think wooly fluff. He looks like he's been on the meth for 15 years because he's lost a lot of weight. He's holding a sign that has a post-it note attached to it (why? Why not write it on the cardboard sign?). The post-it reads: "DON'T WORRY BE NORMAL!".

Homer has a happy face at least, which I think spoils the overall effect of melancholia one feels, when first encountering it - especially in context of the manky goat that sits next to it.

The UI was the easy part. We have agonised over so many little UX details to - so it's smoother, less obstructive, etc.
