Full disclosure, a lot of what I think is based on the belief that most people are good, and do wrong due to flawed perception. I know I could be wrong here, but an inability to accept that there is a chance to have a major Republican willing to listen may bite you in the ass.

I have a best friend and a family member with clinical depression. When they're really weighed down, it's hard to know what to say, if anything at all. Over time, I had to learn how to be there for them without trying to "fix it."

I still love them both, no matter how they're feeling.
