i could also post a nuclear take about how the indie rpg scene gets written off as slop even though it's barely a blip on the radar compared to other genres like roguelites because the indie rpg scene's so full of women and queer people. but i don't know if we're ready for that conversation lmao

mother has absolutely had a huge influence on the scene, but you can't talk about games like undertale and omori without also talking about games like yume nikki and off and space funeral and pen pals. but people just look at them and go "wow this is literally just earthbound"
