We do blood tests, so we don't meet patients, we just use it to put the right reference ranges on

This is really interesting. In our hospital dept we put a small 'trans' note on the patient record, that only we can see. Works fine. We've had objections from other depts saying people might not want that to be known. But our aim is to provide appropriate care.

I work in healthcare and some of us are really pushing back against a move to record 'sex' as 'birth' sex. If I'm interpreting blood test results, I need to know the current information! We've been doing it this way for years. If it ain't broke don't fix it

In the same trip, my mum's valid subway ticket wouldn't work. Police charged her with fare evasion and had a court case in her absence (not guilty)

In 2002 we were refused entry until we could provide the exact street address of our hotel in NYC. "Come on, it's a massive building on Times Square" was not an acceptable response.

I've got a Fulton umbrella and it's never blown inside out. I think it would lift me off the ground if the wind was strong enough. Forget silly umbrellas that fold up small
