I don’t drink tea so makes no difference to me.

It’s the whole America is the greatest nation ever thing they’ve got going on. They don’t appear to study world history properly until college and only if the courses demand it.

Flapjacks predate America.

They date back to the 17th century or earlier. Way before America existed.

Sometimes I'm in awe of just how old Oxford is and all the people who were born here, lived here and died over centuries. Puts life into perspective somewhat. Walking around the really old buildings makes me wonder about all those who came before, and all those yet to come.

The buy to let market needs to end, housing stock snapped by Government and returned to social housing. Doable if somewhat politically painful given people are still hooked on the idea owning property makes you wealthy.

I think that's a bit of a western thing, believing history is just that history. Not a breathing and living entity that tends to repeat itself time and again because a majority of humans never learn as they are comfortable and don't think they'll be impacted by anything.

She clearly loves the attention her diatribes bring, if she put that much energy into writing books she might have avoided falling into the internet rabbit holes she fell into. Emma Watson was nice the only time I met her in Oxford. Didn't say a word to her, she looked relieved by that and smiled.

I do have a passport for ID purposes, but it's an expensive process and no guarantee you'll get one. Not something many can afford when prices on everything keeps going up.

I don't have an issue with an ID card to prove who you are, opening a bank account etc but to centre it around the right to work is nakedly trying to court voters who'll not be voting for the Labour party at the next election. Also calling it a Brit Card is naff. Just call it an ID card.

I tend to put an audiobook on then get into that and before I know it, the time is 5am. I'm currently listening to Sleep Token, and reading about Grunya Yefimovna Sukhareva.

Looks like another way for meta to gather data while trying to make it look cool so people don’t ask questions. Other than to Meta’s AI to fill the rage machine.

I tend to overbuy socks. As I tend to lose them, get new socks and “oh there’s the old socks”.

"While scientists rarely proclaim absolutes, autism researchers say that they are as sure as they can be that there’s no one cause of the condition. “It’s never going to be true,” says Tager-Flusberg; decades of data reveal that a complex (and highly variable) origin is the only logical conclusion."
Autism Has No Single Cause. Here’s How We Know
Scientists will not find a simple answer to how autism arises, despite Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s promise to announce its causes sometime this month. Here’s what makes the condition so staggeringly comp...

Either he’s dead or had a stroke etc and they don’t know what to do. Or it’s a distraction. That’s as far as I’m going with it. He really isn’t worth the time or energy.

The Oxfordshire ADHD service is closed to all referrals so I’m having to wait and see if the Adult Mental Health team will be able to provide ADHD meds. I think it’ll be a no, but the current government seem to not want to spend money on improving services in general for autistic and ADHD peeps.

It’s that time when the season is about to turn/change. I can feel it in my bones. It’s been a bit discombobulating with some trees and plants going into autumnal mode due to heat stress.

I expect it will happen after the budget if it goes down like a cold bucket of sick. Or it could happen during the summer recess.

That was under the care of a different psychiatrist way back in the 2000's. It was one of many medications I tried back then for bipolar disorder.

I get the reasons why, my inattentiveness made them decide they couldn't monitor me safely, remotely. I'm just a tad frustrated as I was on a stimulant medication for something else a long time ago, and it sort of worked.

A fair enough decision to take. I'm still a bit peeved by the right to choose provider I went through for an ADHD diagnosis kicking me back to my GP's as they won't prescribe ADHD meds to people with high blood pressure.
