I genuinely do think that asking them to name when they’ve apologized for being white is extremely revealing. Same with eg “we’re not allowed to express our beliefs.” Oh? What beliefs?

Making bigots own their bullshit positions with detailed explanations exposes the bullshit of their positions.

And their objection isn’t that they have been compelled to make such an apology, because they never have.

What they object to is that others feel the conviction to not only confess to racism’s crimes but seek to make reparation.

What this tells us is that social pressure is extremely effective.
Ok all sarcasm aside, what these white supremacists are really talking about is when they are asked to apologize for doing racist things. Which happens. Because racism is something to apologize for. What they are saying is that no one should have to apologize for racist actions or statements.
Next time someone says they don’t have to apologize for being white anymore, ask them to tell about the most recent time they were forced to apologize for being white and who made them do it.

So, here at the end of 2025, I find myself thinking back about where we've been. I'd like to share with you 12 essays from the year that was—one from each month. These are, if not my "favorites," the ones that I find most emblematic of what I'm trying to do with this work.

Fact | You can't write something predicated in the utterly ludicrous assumption that white men are being excluded from publishing unless you are racist.

I don't think it's good for public safety that unidentified masked men just show up and start terrorizing people, and I don't think that masked men who do so should feel safe in public.
Masked men wearing ICE vests—but who refused to present a warrant or identify themselves—roped off a construction site, trapping two men on a roof for hours in subzero temps. Protesters gathered. Masked men eventually left, and one man on the roof was taken away by ambulance kstp.com/kstp-news/to...

Dear #mastodon can someone explain me why sometimes a thread gets "broken" and I cannot access part of it anymore?

Example:

I toot "A", other users reply to the toot as "B" and "C", and I reply to both with "BA" and "BC", respectively.

After some time I see that my original thread only shows […]

Of course millimeters exists! But believing in kilometers is just a crazy religion, and also where does space come from in the first place? Kilometerists can't explain that! Therefore my specific god is the only logical reason why millimeters exist!

Maybe it is the abuses that create division, not report of the abuse, not consequence for the abuse.

Maybe it is bullying that causes division, not fighting the bully on behalf of the bullied.

Maybe it is lies that cause division, not the telling of truths.

Maybe we need to change the frame.

We need to start to understand that “respecting people’s beliefs” means giving the people holding anti-society beliefs what they want, which is separation from society. Respect their agency that they want what they say they want. Give them credit for the natural logical effect of their belief.

Thought of the day: What would #riscv look like if you made #cheri integral?

2. Traps could generate special sentry capabilities that encode complex execution […]
