As of Q2 2025, the top 10% of US earners accounted for nearly half (49.2%) of all consumer spending, according to Moody.

So an increase from 48.5% in Q1 2025 and is the highest figure in data dating back 35 years. For comparison, three decades ago, this group accounted for about 36% of spending.

Sooty Oyster Catcher. 🪶🧡👀 Love its black feathers, long orange beak and orange around the eyes. 🧡👀 As you can see, it was flying over the ocean and then looking for food at low tide on the reef. 🌊🍽️

Beautiful. Time to go and get that dream.

Ha ha, so cute. I have a pot plastic saucer about two inches deep. I keep it full with water and they'll come and have a bath each day. Yesterday there were three of them.

This is a close-up, side profile photograph of a White-faced Heron. The bird's head and upper neck are a soft blue-grey, contrasting with a clear white patch on the face, chin, and throat. Its feathers on the main body (mantle and wings) are a rich mix of blue-grey and brownish-grey, giving it a shaggy, textured appearance. It has a long, slender, dark grey-to-black bill and a bright yellow iris in its eye. The heron is facing right, and the background is completely out-of-focus, a bright, pale, uniform light grey/off-white colour that highlights the detail and colours of the bird.

"What are you up to back there?" asks the Noisy Miner. 🐦🤔🧐

#birds #birdphotography #birding #birdwatching #birdwatchers #nature #naturephotography #wildlifephotography #wildlife #Canon #R5 #Australia
This is a close-up photograph of a Noisy Miner bird perched on a dark, rounded surface, likely a fence or railing. The bird is facing directly away from the camera, showing its back and tail, but its head is turned and tilted upward to look straight at the viewer. The bird has grey and brown feathers, and its wings are slightly raised and spread, catching the sunlight. Its tail feathers are a lighter, dusty brown with a white tip. The bird's head shows the distinctive yellow patch of bare skin behind its eye and a darker cap. Its orange-yellow feet are visible gripping a dark wooden fence. The background is a bright, unfocused wash of vibrant green foliage, indicating the bird is outdoors on a sunny day.

A Noisy Miner bird, with its characteristic grey and mottled black feathers and a distinctive bright yellow patch of skin behind its eye, is perched centrally on a dark brown thin branch. The bird is facing slightly toward the camera, making direct eye contact. It has a short, slightly down-curved yellow bill and dark eyes. The bird is surrounded by soft, muted greenery and large, pale yellow-green leaves and flower clusters, possibly of a Poinsettia plant in an early stage of bloom. The background is softly blurred with warm, neutral brown and tan tones, giving the image a shallow depth of field and focusing all attention on the bird.

A dramatic sunset sky fills the upper two-thirds of the image with vibrant pink and deep crimson clouds, contrasting against patches of clear blue sky on the left and top. Below the striking sky, the silhouettes of urban buildings are visible: a modern, multi-story apartment or office building stands out on the left with a dark facade and bright white horizontal lines, next to a lower, wider building. In the bottom right corner, the dark, terracotta roof of a smaller residential building is also visible, with the foliage of a few trees in the centre.

Its plumage is very dark grey to black, with visible white scale-like patterns on its shoulders and a smooth texture on its head and neck. The bird's head is turned to the right, showing its long, slender bill and, most prominently, its vibrant green eye circled with a pale blue ring. The background is a completely out-of-focus blur of murky green and brown.

A Little Black Cormorant perched on a substantial piece of driftwood that extends over calm water. The bird is positioned towards the center-left of the frame, with its body angled slightly towards the camera. Its head is distinctly turned to the right, looking intently in that direction.

The cormorant's plumage is predominantly dark, almost black, with subtle scaly or textured patterns visible on its wings. Its long, slender neck leads to a sharp bill, and its most striking feature is its emerald green eye, which is encircled by a bright, pale blue ring.

The background consists of a smooth, out-of-focus expanse of greenish-brown water, creating a tranquil and natural habitat. The lighting is soft, highlighting the bird's features against the subdued aquatic setting.

Not always, but they're known to hang out with cows and other grazing animals to eat the insects, ticks, etc, that get stirred up with movement. It's a win-win situation for the cow and the egret.

A dark, almost uniformly black-brownish Little Black Cormorant is captured in a close-up, standing in shallow water with its back to the viewer. Its impressive wings are spread wide open and slightly elevated, showcasing the intricate patterns of its charcoal-colored feathers. The bird's head is sharply turned to the left, revealing a distinctive, pale grey beak and a striking bright green eye. The water surrounding the bird is a muted, blurry blend of dark greens and browns, creating a natural and understated background that highlights the cormorant's dark plumage.
