This is so smart. We need to be thinking of how to preserve and document all the history and science websites that gov controls right now before Monday, they are all at risk of being tampered with if not removed entirely by the incoming admin just like they did before.

Needs a better name, and maybe I'm just old, but what I need is a replacement for the way fb marketplace and buy/sell/trade/hobby groups work on FB.

As a geologist, no it's not as simple as that because we don't follow those rules for naming of all the other continents. There is no right or wrong information, it's a socially constructed term that is determined by different factors depending on where you live.

This is all arbitrary. Number of continents is always determined by the heritage and location of the person listing them. Someone from El Salvidore will have been taught it's split one way, while someone in USA will be taught something different. What you are taught is based on your countries bias.

That's only partially true. It's never been a highly forested area except millions of years ago. It's primarily been scrubland, and sparse high altitude pine groves with a few lush wooded areas following the rivers in the valleys. It is both poor management and climate change that caused this.

I would be interested to look at who is betting and how it compares to similar bets on other natural disasters across the usa. My guess is that interest in betting against the fire being managed is linked to a general hate for California from many in other states.

Just keep in mind it's often more complicated than "it's always the rich people who live in those areas" it's the same exact thing as Republicans saying "everyone that lives in (Metropolitan area A) must be black and on welfare". Let's not generalize everything to make political points.

Fully Dismantling social security without a plan to replace them first is not trying to fix anything. They are not discussing anything other than the removal of the program. You should know this.

Incorrect, obamacare (the affordable health plan) is not in any way connected to any of the multi-billion dollar private insurance companies that people have good reason to be mad at. These issues started far before obamacare was even a thing. Stop trying to make obamacare a boogyman.
