While the previous fx from the alpha were stock particles purchased from asset store (which you should never be ashamed of, tons of games do this) it's still nice to be able to make something myself that looks good (old vs new)

The new note burst particle vfx in projekt godhand v0.5 and up were done by me. I'm really happy with them!

The smoke puff is actually a single frame that's animated using a shader, and the swirly slash is a straight slash applied to a circular mesh. #unityengine #gamedev

when i work on a thing in secret for a while and don't have anything to show for it, it can feel like "is it worth it? am i wasting my time?" etc., impostor syndrome starts to set in...

occasionally something like TGS rolls around and shows i'm actually rather good at what i do

i think ebay is a good barometer of how much people are willing to pay for these games tho, a lot of switch 2 games are actually only going for $40 and $50 (new! unopened!) a few weeks after launch...
