Just your average anime and manga fan.

I decided to finish the night out by watching The Boy and the Beast, which was the last film I needed to clear out Mamoru Hosoda's present film catalog.

I thought the movie was really good. The animation was well done, as I expected from Studio Chizu, and I thought the plot was well done also.

After two years of waiting with uncertainty, I finally got my hands on the final volume of #LandoftheLustrous. I'll have to do a full read of the series to get a proper understanding, but at last it's finally finished.

@kelogsloops.bsky.social Are there any plans to release the complete piece for the Dandân Islands as a print? It looks absolutely gorgeous as a panorama.

These three just came in the mail Thursday! They're from @yuumeiart.bsky.social, and I grabbed them as part of a sale she was running before moving to Sweden. I discovered her on Instagram and fell in love with the level of detail she put into her pieces.

The print on the left is from @juliartworld.bsky.social, which came from the Hokusai reimagined artbook kickstarter she and @kelogsloops.bsky.social contributed to. The print on the right is from @johannesvoss.bsky.social . Not pictured is the additional print from him coming in the mail.

After talking to @cloveralters.spikefeeders.com about prints, I realized I should probably share mine! These four are from @kelogsloops.bsky.social. I also have his artbook from the kickstarter, which I read cover to cover.

Think it's time I started an Avatar: the Last Airbender rewatch. It's been too long.

And finally, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid to round out the trifecta.

Like the others, I thought this movie was really good. It reminded me a lot of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, albeit only a third of the length.

Next on the list was Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, which was also good. I don't remember Kaede's Puberty Syndrome was that well, but I did remember she struggled really hard with going out in public.

One more film to go, and then I should be ready for S2.

Got some homework to do before I can watch the new season of Bunny Girl Senpai, so we're starting with this. Almost done at the time of writing, and I've been enjoying it.

I'm sure there was a non-zero number of people who openly wept in theaters at multiple points.

I'm pretty sure I thought about reading the manga for this, but ultimately decided against it. Seeing that CloverWorks is animating it, I'm really excited. If I like it enough, I may pick the story up anyway.

I'm rewatching Darling in the FranXX ahead of the Reddit rewatch next month, and God I forgot how much I loved the first half of this show. It's so good.

@kelogsloops.bsky.social You said you took inspiration from various anime you've watched. Is this based off of Nagisa from Clannad?

Lately I've been binge watching Kokoro Connect, and I'm really enjoying it. I have a feeling it's another instance of a show coming into my life at just the right time.
June 4, 2025 at 3:17 AM
I didn't pay attention at the time, but it looks like when I finished Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian, it was my 300th completed anime according to MAL.
I gave the show an 8/10.

This really frustrates me. I know I'm a good bit further into the manga than the anime's adapted, but Frieren should've won this category handily.

The latest trip to Barnes & Noble had everything I needed.

Dandadan volume 12
Chainsaw Man volume 18
Komi Can't Communicate volume 33
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End volume 18

I was able to get another @kelogsloops.bsky.social piece framed up this morning. I had to trim both the outside and inside of the mat to fit in the frame, and some of the inside edges are a little rough, but overall I'm really happy with the end result.

When I backed this Kickstarter project, I also purchased a pair of A4 sized prints.

The first is a re-imagined piece by @kelogsloops.bsky.social, and the second is a re-imagined piece by @juliartworld.bsky.social. I'm absolutely in love with them, and need to get them framed and mounted ASAP.

Bought a ticket to go see the new Mobile Suit Gundam: Gquuuuuux in theaters.

I loved Neon Genesis Evangelion, and I've also really liked the last couple Gundam shows Sunrise has put out, so them working alongside Studio Khara means this should be really good.

I stopped at Barnes & Noble on the way home from work today and picked up some new manga to read.

- Chainsaw Man Volume 17
- Dandadan Volumes 10 & 11
- Komi Can't Communicate Volume 32
- Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Volume 21

So when she solos bosses it's cool, but when I solo bosses I'm a piece of shit.

I totally forgot this was even coming out. There were parts of the first season that I definitely didn't like compared to the original series, but we'll see if the second season is any better.

That's probably also the reason I started watching the new Spice and Wolf remake, and couldn't help but just want to watch the original again as well.

Even if the Holo in the remake looks more accurate to the LN artwork, and they're going to make it longer as well, aren't they?
January 6, 2025 at 3:31 AM
I watched the original Rurouni Kenshin, or Samurai X I guess, years and years ago, so I was interested when they announced the remake. I started watching the dub, and it just makes me nostalgic and wanting to watch the original all over again.
