tbh despite the msq horrors his teenage years were the worst to him. starvation, homelessness, yanked to orphanage, deemed a criminal for his petty attempts to survive. then the end of 1.0 hit lol!!! he knew everyone else would get just as desperate as him, so he left limsa for good 👍

then again it doesn’t seem like he’s eager to help himself anyway. he’s a lost cause, he knows that, at this point he thinks “this will pass” and endures whatever is thrown at him. things passed, and they changed him. was a child, still a child, but more hurt and secluded without an adult to rely on

at constant survival mode for more than 20 years and it doesn’t stop. it probably will never stop, ettore believes this is completely normal and the world just happens to be cruel by default. he’s used to this. anything else he would deem as suspicious or bait…same reason why he sticks to himself
