Can you help us ID this species of #insect? It was filmed at TLC's The Big Punchbowl Reserve, crawling along in casuarina debris. Tip: we think it might be a #moth in the family #Psychidae.

Eastern quolls will rest during daytime hours in dens, and they can have up to five dens, which they use alternately. They can carry nesting material in their mouths into the den, you may spot females doing this throughout the period she has young with her.

Our latest #LandforWildlife member, Chris Calverley from Tayene, has sent through these fabulous pictures of #easternquolls who have made a home under his deck. They manage to get through a small hole, with one picture of a larger male gnawing the decking to make the hole big enough for him.

They store carbon, support diverse plant communities, & provide habitat for threatened species – incl a nationally significant pop of migratory birds, the Latham’s snipe. But they’re at risk. Invasive weeds, feral deer and altered water flows from historic drains are threatening their health.

We’re excited to receive significant support from The Ian Potter Foundation over the next five years to restore the rare peatland marshlands of Silver Plains Reserve in Lutruwita/Tasmania’s Central Highlands. These wetlands play a vital role in the landscape.
