Yeah! Breaking down objects and forms into simple shapes to understand their underlying structure is a great tool to help learning to draw almost anything :3

By tracing over that wolf picture, it breaks what I said in my first post about the muzzle shape I guess, so that's more stylistic in my case and why I don't rely on it past breaking down a form. In general though, thicker/wider muzzles are the way to go with canines, and I hope this helps! :D

Those are just some quick doodles of my own style, which isn't accurate to reality, but I'm not trying to achieve that XD. One of the techniques I use to help me understand how to build faces and other forms was by tracing over pictures to see how I could break them down in my own style

Oh, good question! I used to struggle with the inverse of that because I usually default to canines! For dog/wolf muzzles, go bigger and thicker. Foxes usually have narrower snouts, so to compensate I usually will make canine muzzles have more parallel nose and jaw lines, vs sloped with cats/foxes
