I had this realisation the other day that AI basically still sucks at writing code for the same reason it still basically sucks at writing books.
Generating a small snippet of contextually plausible text is fine when the rest of the structure is intentional.

I love writing synchronous asynchronous code what do you mean? It’s really fun having the ability to paralyse all of this but having to force it to block every line because obviously what kind of software needs QA testing but doesn’t also have state!? What are you testing if there is no state!?

The actual solution (from a gaming perspective) to hardware price gouging by AI speculators is to let the AAA games industry die.
It’s way overheated and entirely dependent on talented individuals giving up their lives without proper compensation.
Maybe they should have planned better 🤷♀️

The problem with VSCode being a basically solid if not amazing free code editor is I am pretty sure I need to move off it. It’s bugging and spitting in a bunch of ways that only software maintained by Microsoft does. And there is zero chance I can match the community support.

Can I have regular old classically designed machine logic import checker back please? The button for it keeps being sporadically replaced with an LLM equivalent. That just implemented a blank function at the bottom of my file instead of importing anything?

One of the major reasons I am happy twitter users are coming here instead of joining the fediverse is a lot of you don’t seem to understand being in reaction/ resistance of a thing.
Doesn’t actually mean you aren’t a part of and actively propagating that thing.

It would be really cool if the commit message generator could tell the difference between a new file being added and the same file being renamed. It’s a really useful tool until I move or rename anything.
