lmaoo i was googling reference pics for hot spring towels and in lots of the photos they wore them in the water, but i later found out youre not supposed to (those pics were for the sake of photoshoots which makes sense for obvious reasons)

their creators saw them just as tools - which in truth, at that point, they were very primitive in their evolutionary state so it wouldnt be far from the truth.
in their modern day, they would definitely have acknowledgement as a race and be compensated, although they feel little use for money :P

thats a very good question i didnt think of! i would imagine its possible but probably very hard to do. if so, at the minimum it could just be falsified data they receive, or altering their inputs during transmission). possibly at worst, completely frying their brains 😱but who would do such a thing!

i did design them with some ethics dilemma in mind, just didnt have time to fit the details in writing haha. like, its not right to apply regulations on an entire independent, intelligent species as if they were an object. but how do you prevent people from abusing their genetic purpose? etc etc

theyre definitely a finnicky race to deal with in the human-alien alliance.. they were basically made to feel happy and purposeful through putting their skills to work - something like the "pet" would just want to entertain and make people happy through companionship.
