Just a person who likes a quiet, simple life.
What discourages me working is being too disabled to work, otherwise I'd work and build a life/career. Cutting the rates won't make me able work, but it will make my quality of life more intolerable.

Youtube grifting is big business these days. People swollow it whole, especially if the science is fringe or the messaging is populist. I also wonder how many people who shout "but the green lobby!" consider the climate-denial lobby and who funds them.

They know self-diagnosis won't qualify anyone for benefits. It requires proof of significant difficulty in managing basic tasks. Incapacity has become harder to qualify for, and cut to jobseekers rates for the basic sickness group. They should address the actual issues instead of divide and blame.

It certainly seems this way. I recently finally felt like were now on an irreversible path.

2.8m views too. I wonder the % of those who won't engage in critical thought, just automatic outrage because it fits a narrative.

But even a diagnosis doesn't qualify anyone for out of work benefits. It is evidence-based and you are also are assessed by the DWP for how well you can manage tasks. Certain aspects of the media seem to push a narrative that cash is handed over with your diagnosis.

What an ignorant question. If your "normal feelings" are stopping you from managing to work or functioning they are not normal. We know everyone can get depressed and anxious at times, but an actual disorder is a whole different thing.

There was nothing in your post to warrant such responses. These people feel more and more enabled to act like this. I had enough of that place when I watched a disabled man being mocked and abused for stating who he wanted to win. That should not be accepted anywhere.

The basic rate of incapacity no longer offers extra to compensate for it being harder to work if you have health issues. It just removes the requirement to find a job. It is now financially the same as basic JSA unless you can prove you cannot even prepare yourself for future work.
