Details: Hello CIRA,
Sorry about the last email, this time I'm sending it from the email address associated with my CIRA account.
I would like to have CIRA verify it's members on Bluesky. My understanding is that CIRA members have provide ID on sign up. So we already have a verification model in place. I would like to showcase this verification on Bluesky not only with a .ca domain but with the recognizable "blue checkmark". Since Bluesky will show the verifier, who will be @cira.ca, it will add to the internet presence of CIRA and strengthen the Canadian brand. This will allow the "blue checkmark" to be given to regular Canadians, an objection of the current system.
Currently Bluesky is not accepting applications for trusted verifiers, but @cira.ca can still make verification records. When CIRA applies and is accepted to be a trusted verifier all the verification records created by @cira.ca will then be shown on Bluesky as "blue checkmarks". My current understanding is derived from this exchange with @cred.blue, a person who made a tool to easily create verification records, (link: https://bsky.app/profile/tauheed-elahee.ca/post/3lnibfc3xrc2h)
I would like your feedback on this and the likelihood of CIRA to pursue this.
