What got me (on 500 Songs) was how much _history_ was in Liverpool and how everyone was bouncing around and touching and listening to history. What an amazing time and place to have been alive.

Solidarity, fellow dad of a HS senior. I swing between being very proud and slightly horrified all day long. I'd give an eye-tooth to see things from his perspective AND that he could see through my perspective (and 30+ more years of living).

Months ago Jessamyn posted github.com/mcguirepr89/... on mastodon. I've been tempted many times to add a node in my backyard (even though west Texas is the same 15 bird species). I'm going to PNW this summer and plan to have Merlin open whenever I'm in nature. :)

On a three mile walk around my little university in Texas I counted exactly 1 single-cab pickup. I didn’t count the double cabs but it would have been in the hundreds. I drive a 23 year old suburban, so I’m used to no bells (although I have power windows). This thing is perfect around town.
