I still lean into online spaces. Discord and Instagram, mainly. Online friendships are real friendships. Never underestimate the importance of connection, especially for isolated or disabled people.

I found connections online in the late 00s and early 2010s. Usually art sites or places like tumblr. It was the first time that I found people like me. That is, queer, neurodivergent (undiagnosed at the time), and quirky. Sure, there were some bad outliers, but i now consider them lessons.

I grew up, and still am, pretty rural. Being artsy and not at all into sports, I was too far away from events I could have made friends at. It was lonely. It was... isolating.

Will probably never share this one because it's weird and not the cool kind but wanted to give myself accountability by putting the cover into the world
