I didn't talk much about the pieces of shit running the Federation side of things but rest assured they got what was coming to them. Same as Ginias. Really good villainy afoot here to go along with the on-the-ground drama. Great show. Loved it. Gundam rules.

In any event that concludes one of the best and one of my favorite Gundams yet! Incredible art and action and music. Great characters and fantastic story and pacing. Loved Aina and Shiro and I'm very happy they made it. It was dicey there for a bit, as always! 08th crew are my absolute homies.

They're fine! And.. that's honestly the least part of the episode. Michel and Kiki's time with the Zeon kids was so unsettling and a little heartbreaking. They were almost certainly Newtypes (our first of this show!) but were they ghosts? Real kids that.. maybe achieved Perfect Newtype while alive?

Last episode fastforwards us a year. In search of Shiro Kiki and a whiny drunk bitchy Michel come across some young Zeon leftovers surviving in the woods. This is weird!

All the most present bad men are dead and Shiro and Aina are nowhere to be found. There's a whole episode left?? That never happens! It's usually a hard cut to credits and that's it!

Gundam, man. It will always take you to the finish line of peace but blow you up before you can cross. Aina was on the cusp of stopping the assault while her people fled but Ginias decided to unleash the Apsaras on the federation, resulting in retaliation that kills the fleeing Zeons..

Yeah this is top tier Gundam. Leadership on both sides are making moves that ensure the deaths of their own people for personal gain. The soldiers on the ground are fighting like mad for NOTHING! Aina is trying to help the Zeons flee while Shiro and the feds assault the Apsaras base.

Shiro learns the hard way that vengeful feelings and violent outcomes are more likely than not in bitter wars. Though he works hard to save a handful of Zeons AND a rebel village both groups wind up getting almost obliterated. Add these to the images this show has burned into me

Haven't said much about Ginias (lol). He's Aina's controlling brother and honest to by god mad scientist! He's told that development on his project is ending and it's time to return to space. He's upset. Meanwhile a courtmartialed (!) Shiro and the 08th head out to help Kiki's village.

Ultimately Aina is rescued by the Zeons and they are separated. This episode was incredible! Fantastic animation and art throughout. This is shaping up to be an all timer on my watchthrough!

Anyway episode 7 was THE episode. Shiro and Aina are blown into the wilderness and forced into various survival threats. Overcoming all! They very quickly confess their love for each other and it's all very nice :)

The plan was to trap Aina's super weapon and it works a little too well. A battle begins resulting in Shiro and Aina exploding off to an uncertain fate (they'll be fine). Astounding animation and shots in this ep. Loving 08th so far!

I don't recall the episode this is based off and I don't really feel like going back and watching it again because this is juuust fine. Nice to see White Base get one over on the feds that fucked with them for so long. Nice to avoid tragedy! The orphans were all cute. Great action. Good film!
