Priest, start up founder (CHURCHx.ca, askcathy.ai, ecclesia.ai), sailor, dad. I spend a lot of time at the intersections of faith and technology. I can be found on Sundays at St. John the Baptist, Toronto (Anglican) and on weekdays at CHURCHx.ca .
Hmm. Not quite my area of research, but close. My work is on the patterns of AI-Human communication regarding faith. Basically: is learning and/or faith formation happening? Can we prove it? How is it different from Human-to-human communication?

Bless you, that’s true!

I get you. I always vest for Celebrating the Eucharist in Cassock+Amice+Alb… which confuses and confounds many who observe it. These days I also have my own amice. When I was at an AC parish we had stacks of amices rolled neatly and wore fresh ones every Mass. sigh.

Mmmm, sorry, but this is a “Christmas Restoration Drama”. Nakatomi Plaza is a “village in peril”, John McClane is the reluctant redeemer, Holly’s hard heart is softened, and Christmas itself is saved. It’s a classic Christmas trope.

thanks! I did preach the heck out of it on Sunday, which was a bit cathartic. I'm ok--in the way one is at such times. www.youtube.com/live/AAr8w5s...

I had reliability issues until I switched to fiber optic all the way to the modem in my house. It’s been pretty solid since then. Satellite would be another modality to consider.

But thr Netflix comparison is always extremely effective because of the double standard of moral indignation.

And discussions of the environmental impact of AI needs to be contextualized within those concerns overall.

Yes, I often make these comparisons, too, as well as to driving a car, etc. but I always follow up with analysis if what sectors of human activity use the most energy. AI is still a pretty small slice of a much larger pie.
