We could use some good vibrations for the turbulent times in which we find ourselves. This Handpan instrument is one of the ways that I offer such healing vibrations for people to listen to. I pray for everyone to find time to breathe deeply and find peace each day. youtu.be/YCUeZgVLB5U

As I’ve been reflecting on the untimely and sad loss of Malcom-Jamal Warner, I remember one of his profound statements. This is especially resonant as an educator.

“Slavery is White history, how we survived it is Black history.” Malcom-Jamal Warner

Just got my copies of this book of poetry by my dear brother Julian Montgomery. Besides being an incredible composer, and musical creative he has published this book of poetry aimed at our greatest resource, children. Beautifully written and illustrated. #ForTheSakeOfAllOurChildren

One week away from another opportunity for us to understand the importance of drinking a clean glass of water. So beneficial to our healing and overcoming by word of our testimony. #waysofknowing

A quick reflection after our play rehearsal. We tell our stories with the guidance and wisdom from our ancestors and elders. Our creative expression fuels our resilience past, present, and future. #wellness #woundedhealersplay

My heart is full! Thanks to everyone who came to support my concert and effort to help the local food shelf. Big thank you to the Waconia Moravian Church for such a great concert space! Shout out to Berry Sound Acoustics for the sound and video production. Live dance added a lot! #grateful

My mother was my first teacher. I will always honor and dedicate my performances to her memory and what she instilled in me. My singing and music making carries the momentum of her memory.

In this iteration of the play, we ground in the principals of Remembering, Sankofa, and honoring the wisdom of ancestors and elders. We will also grapple with the times in which we presently live. Register on the link. #woundedhealers

We presented Interactive Theater of Isms at the Leading Courageosly for Racial Equity Conference. Let’s be clear. Interlocking isms seek to distract us from our common humanity. We push back by building a world where we can all be free. #educationalleadership #uprootEDshow

A couple of years ago, we joined the fight to clear the name of #MarcusGarvey. We wrote a petition and did a clothing drop (a portion of the proceeds went to the efforts of Dr. Julius Garvey).
Pres. Joe Biden did it!
Now we must carry on the legacy and "Get up and DO!"

One of the songs I’m preparing to sing by Undine Smith Moore. Her setting of Love Let The Wind Cry….How I Adore Thee feels good to me. It is such a rich experience to interpret and find the nuances vocally and the text of Ancient Greek poet, Sappho. Moore’s works always stretch the imagination.
