It’s such a simple thing, shaming malice disguised as good, and refusing to pretend it’s something else. And it’s been so sad and terrifying watching so many choose not to do so.

And yet, if you went to Hamnet even though you didn’t know what it was, and accidentally walked into the wrong theater, I bet you’d still realize your mistake a few minutes in, when the titles ran, and told you the movie you were watching was Wake Up Dead Man.

I am very jealous. I assume the all caps means it's as powerful now as it was my first time, last century? Does Rick Danko still look impossibly fragile and beautiful?

It's a bit odd, though, how ~25% of the movie feels like it was storyboarded and obsessed over and should be taught in film schools, while the rest looks rushed and hacky.

That 25% though was worth whatever portion of my DirecTV bill goes to TCM.

And soooooooooo ahead of her time, artistically, and as a human being.
