IUSDHFSD it's so good though... and quite different, including their personalities and how explicit their attraction to the other is. A lot of worldbuilding was left out sadly

Yeah, the adaptation got axed violently and cut out a lot of the original :( The novel goes a lot more far and does at some point show how their actions influenced the world around them, so if you enjoyed the manga definitely give the novel a try!
