Roller derby announcer, dad, out-of-practice musician, podcast creator of Calling From Elm Lake, all-around performer, always trying to be better. He/him.
Tonight showed me a couple of things.

I know talented gorgeous people.

I’m VERY out of practice at just being in public. I used to be comfortable and it’s all gone.

I am out. In public.

It’s weird.

If I can keep fighting through my social anxiety moment, I’ll actually head out to see a burlesque show tonight.

It’s been ages. But it would be good for me to go out.

Very tempted to post something whiny, but it’s winter melancholy time and it doesn’t help anyone, least of all me.

To keep myself from being super melancholy at home, took myself out to a movie.

The new Anaconda is delightfully stupid.

Peaceful day with the kiddos, but now they have reunited with mom and I won’t see them again until Monday. Gotta fill my time somehow and not go a little crazy this time of year.

Today will be the first time my children try my chili. Hoping they dig it.

I also hope they never ask for the recipe. Because it changes every time, at least a little.

Every time I see someone espouse eggnog love, I wonder who hurt them.

Best part about being a theater kid who honestly loves that I work for and with mostly women?

I didn’t get my face wrecked in boxing matches. And I don’t believe people would be cheering for that to happen to me.

Little dude’s birthday is tomorrow. He insisted on presents and birthday dinner today. I am not going to prevent this, because I love his excitement.

As of tomorrow morning, both my kids are double digits. That’s pretty cool.

Sometimes, the strangest paths carry the most truths. Find episode 89 (S4E11), out now!
Episode 89 tells the tale of the labyrinth. It also tells a tale far more and less important.

Keeping the spooky in the holidays with our story. Find it where you find your podcasts.

According to the redactions, apparently that orange guy didn’t even exist from 1980 until 2024.

Welp. Just found out that, after the next two weeks, my Wednesday nights free up. Sad to lose the venue, but this DOES mean I can go to my daughter’s band concert in a month!

No, it’s FINE that I lost a page of writing for my next episode because my computer decided to have an aneurism. Just fine. It probably wasn’t that good anyway.

Ugh, I’ll rewrite it. But I reserve the right to whine about it.

Wrapped up a show in the middle of NoDak tonight, and get to head back to the Cities SUPER EARLY before a show outside Rochester tomorrow night.

I make choices, okay?

I’m overnighting in Fergus Falls.

All day, the only joke running through my head was “does your Fergus stand? No… Fergus falls.”

I swear I’m more clever than this.

Made it through the blizzard to my (sparsely attended, but attended!) quiz night. Of course, now it isn’t snowing…

I really don’t get the people who love and defend AI. It is just a slop machine, spitting out stolen slop.

At least the slop *I* create comes with heart and soul. And you know I made it myself!

Our 88th episode is out in the wilds. Realities are starting to cross each other with more frequency. The harvest looms.

Did a little murder mystery, gonna grab late dinner, then home to edit the podcast.

I should really plan better.

Really awesome that FIFA has completely shed themselves of the image of being a corrupt organization willing to pander to the worst people. I’m sure the IOC will do similar.

Got a totally (and shockingly) empty night. Gonna treat myself to some shrimp jambalaya, because I love it and it’s been AGES.

Why the fuck do people with more money than God not use some if it to buy the common decency to not trash entire communities? You asshats have no right to continue to be this ignorant.

Looking at you, transphobes and white nationalists…

Already entering Whamhalla. You know what? That’s okay. Time to play the reverse version and see how many times I end up hearing it now!

Just made it back from Madison, after a 90min pause in Tomah. We had to wait for grandpa to kindly bring us the jacket my eldest left behind.

Not a teen yet, but they’re already practiced at teen things.
