Hello! I'm also known as Cinderella of The World of Royalty (Royalty.nu). Yes, I'm still around. The site isn't.
No longer a prince, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will reportedly remain in the line of succession. He and Sarah will move out of their current home, Sarah will be on her own. Apparently Charles will provide for Andrew financially. Andrew's daughters remain princesses.

After fighting with Windows 11 all day, I'm thinking about getting a Chromebook. Maybe that is actually useable. ????

Windows 11 is unbelievably awful. I can't even turn off these freaking taskbar browser previews that obscure my screen when I'm working. Apparently there's no way to turn them off anymore. Wondering if I need a Linux computer to work in peace.

Um, if Tilly Norwood is an AI actress, why can't I find clips of her acting?

All that's left of Royalty.nu is the blog, and that will be going offline soon. I'll keep the domain, no current plans for it. Almost wish I still maintained old Royal News page, with the US quickly devolving into monarchy. As I always said, there's never a dull moment in the world of royalty.

Thinking back to the news lockdown in Nepal in 2001 after the crown prince massacred the royal family (& was then declared king, the massacre officially described as an accident), I'm not surprised if the younger generation values free speech and access to information

Wow, Amazon has absolutely nuked its book section and book search. It's unusable. Mystifying.

Wow, Princess Leonor (the Princess of Asturias) is old enough for military service now. I've been away from royal news for years now, and it's amazing to see the children who are now all grown up!
The King and Queen of Spain were joined by the Princess of Asturias as they marked the traditional Epiphany Day celebrations at the Royal Palace in Madrid https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2025/01/heirloom-pascua-militar-pearls-for-queen-letizia-of-spain-in-madrid.html

Someone sent me some history photos today with inaccurate captions. Yes, Marie Antoinette was beheaded, but that doesn't automatically mean she was a Tudor. Well, maybe an honorary Tudor.

Here's some info on The RoyaLand, a project of Emanuele Filiberto, grandson of last king of Italy Umberto II. According to the site, other royal family members are involved, including Prince Seeiso, brother of Lesotho's current king. Doesn't look like there's any game available yet.

How do you say the equivalent of "tweet" on Bluesky? Am I blueing? Skying? Flying? It can't just be "post." That's too boring. The logo is a butterfly. Maybe I'm fluttering.

Modern medicine erases the child mortality horrors depicted in 19th-century literature. In the 1800s, ~50% of U.S. kids died before the age of 5. One scholar warns that undermining #vaccines risks bringing those tragedies back https://buff.ly/4g68i4c (@aktange.bsky.social, Macalester College) 🗃️ 🩺
Infectious diseases killed Victorian children at alarming rates — their novels highlight the fragility of public health today
Between 40% and 50% of children didn’t live past 5 in the US during the 19th century. Popular authors like Charles Dickens documented the common but no less gutting grief of losing a child.

If I had time, I'd post alllll of the book lists from the old Royalty.nu site on the current site. But I have other work now and not much free time. I've missed a few years of new books, too, so the lists are getting outdated.
