Terrifying. My 2 cents.

That relentless or silence is parenthood. Distracting yourself from it, distancing yourself or wishing it was different creates its own monster.

They’re responsible for her now - they don’t get to be the mommy who is going to be a good mommy when Bella’s older because you don’t get that choice. You’re a mommy now and then and allllll the time in-between.

You’re exactly never sure you’re doing the right thing and at times you wish you had your old pre-kids life back - but it’s gone. Bella’s parents largely still think they’re in that world, but they aren’t. They let Bella into their hearts.

Parenting is basically about dedication. You’re giving over your selfhood to something else - something you brought into the world. Which is at times wonderful but is never easy. Like I don’t know any parents that are like ‘oh yeah, we totally have this shit DOWN.’
