Life and Times of Michael K is based on the experiences of a simple man leaving the war-torn city to take his mother back to her home farm. The two main characters were puppets, interacting with a cast. The puppetry was amazing, although I'm not sure it added to the telling of the story.

"To The Detective Investigating My Murder" (this week's Shouts & Murmurs" in the New Yorker) was a rare swing and a miss by Patricia Marx. I mean, what a great concept - endless potential for brilliant humor. But the piece was scattered and flat. I may need to write my own!

Ralph Fiennes is subtle and great in Conclave - but John Lithgow and Stanley Tucci hurt me with overacting whenever they're on screen.

I thought Anora was very good - especially as the movie went on. Mikey Madison is great in the role!

We went to the West Newton Theatre for the first time in a while - so happy that it's now run as a non-profit so it will be around for a long time! Seats are comfortable, butu needs investment in sound and video!

The corned beef hash and eggs at the S&S Deli in Cambridge is to die for (from). Walked *some* of the calories off with a loop through Central and Kendall Sqs. www.sandsrestaurant.com
