Service Members would require and annual or biennial training on what the constitution permits, prohibits, and does not address. Then education on how to verify that orders/actions are lawful. Then a process on reporting and protecting whistleblowers.

It won't happen, because the education, training, and reporting/supporting apparatus would essentially be undermining the military chain of command.

I'm simply pointing out that the statement of, "You are allowed to reject unlawful orders" is performative.

Without a process in place to guide folks on HOW people can identify and then safely defy unlawful orders, this is useless.

This is performative and unproductive.

Some young people did, yes.

I think the data would support the idea that many others, the majority of people, are generally unaware of what is happening, what it means for their futures, and how this is earily similar to the recent socio-political past.

When factoring in what the digital world exposes them to by showing them things the algorithm has debunked they already want to see... yes.

Not because the internet exists, but because of how companies use the internet to shape opinion and spin stories.

You allude to having a disagreement with the OP regarding younger peoples' critical-thinking, and I'm partly responding to OP and addressing your disagreement with that assessment.

Young folks have a unique experience with information having nothing to do with accuracy or inspiring learning.

I do think that younger people have opportunities to develop critical analysis, but it's not because they are silly.

All under-25s have grown up in a world of targeted internet ads, electronic/financial monitoring, shifting educational priories, & corporate-political enfranchisement.

I think it's worth stating that the disenfranchised have historically repelled violence against them with arms.

Women, BIPOC, & LGBTIQA+ folks have been buying guns and training with them since the 2020 pandemic lockdowns.

Don't vote to disarm yourself in the hope that oppressors will be disarmed.

Clearly the plan is to get a lottery pick in the 2026 draft.

Maybe they need candidates that inspire participation.
