Thanks, Elliot! The biggest game-changer for me was getting out of the inbox and into the room. I met my agent at an in-person conference, and pitching face-to-face made all the difference. We clicked right away. It’s much easier to spot a kindred spirit in person than than through a query letter.

Spoken word and poetry give such an intense, distilled experience of language, it makes the leap into a novel a whole different kind of journey. Keep at it though… those 50 pages are gold. Who knows where they might lead when the time to return to them feels right. Thanks for the kind words!
