The number of construction jobs is also growing. Crusoe says it has 6,000 to 7,000 construction workers on site at its Abilene campus. Still non-traditional by economic development terms. But as you note, it's not nothing.

Data centers have traditionally not created many full-time permanent jobs ... typically 25-50 per building. But they may create 1,500 to 2,500 trade jobs during construction. As campuses ger bigger, those gigs are becoming more like permanent jobs, stretching 4-5 years for multi-building campuses.

I can't speak fpr Mississippi, but in many instances the local tax revenue from real estate and sales/use tax can be significant. In Virginia, for example, 2024 tax revenue related to data centers was $280 million in Prince William County and $900 million in Loudoun.

Overtake mode sounds a lot like DRS, in concept if not execution.

Boost mode sounds like an interesting addition, especially for the drivers who are avid gamers.
