The whole "what is art" debate gets pretty pretentious and rancid though. I feel like you can use gen AI for creativity. You can also use it as a placeholder to get an idea down roughly. Thats not what corporations are doing though and thats the issue. Theyre useing it to replace people

Cleaning my machine, calibrating filliment, getting my setting good, sometimes painting models, sometimes making small edits to models. I wouldnt call myself an artist though. I wouldnt call it MY artwork. Its somebody elses that ive at most customized.

Weather id consider anything purely generated to be "art" and the people making this stuff "artist" is kind of a philosophical question and also like pompous. I kinda view it like 3d printing in a way. I wouldnt call myself an artist for printing other peoples models. Yeah i put work into it

I follow another person who generates fake vintage toys and writes stories to go along with them about their made up source material. Neato. DougDoug is fucking hilarious and demonstrates how to use the strengths and uniqueness of gen AI to tell stories only possible with it (theyre batshit insane)

I met a cosplayer who was carrying around a speaker playing music they generated to fit in with their cosplay. Kinda odd but whatever. I follow infinateartmachine on tumblr which generates stuff from random prompts. Stuffs pretty cool looking and surreal.

I hate it being shoved into everything.I hate the degregation of information thanks to it and peoples reliance on it for information. I hate corporations replacing people with it. I hate it being used as an excuse to build massive server farms. But I also hate people treating it like its evil
