Using a VPN won't work as they can identify patterns associated with VPN traffic or have databases of known VPN IP addresses, even though a VPN masks your IP address.

I don't understand why they would target your account as you don't participate in any of that stuff. I think you should contact a TV station or local newspaper to have the issue investigated. They love that kind of stuff.
