Is that really the East Wing or is it the East Room? I don’t recall a room that large in the East Wing.

In Brignoni-Ponce, the 1975 case Kavanaugh cited, the defendant who appeared to be “of Mexican descent” was transporting undocumented Mexicans, but he was NOT of Mexican descent himself. (He was a USA citizen of Puerto Rican descent.) So much for the Border Patrol’s “reasonable suspicion.”

And not just a Windsor king, but a Stuart king!

Another destructive blunder by the regime. But at least this one—unlike so many others—is less likely to cost anyone their life.

I don’t know for sure, but I doubt that that diversity of faculty exists today at that HS. But I do know that it exists in the faculty of the nearest community college. And I think that is a tremendously valuable resource.

We had been taught in HS by a brilliant mix of graduates, of state teachers’ colleges and universities (near and far, obscure and renowned), small private secular and religious liberal arts colleges, elite technical universities, Seven Sisters and Ivies, and even some European universities.

When I attended a large public high school in a small city in the Northeast, there were not yet nearby public community or technical colleges for my fellow HS graduates to enroll in. But that was remedied not long after I graduated. Although all options cost more today, that remains a good one.

How is that any different from the Supreme Court, whose members are completely free to act as a political organization without any enforceable campaign finance reporting requirements? Aren’t the bribes they accept fully deductible for the donors?
July 8, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Many churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, and other “houses of worship” operate as Super PACs already, so this recognizes donations to this kind of political body as tax-deductible for the donors, while the political organization remains exempt from any campaign finance reporting requirements.

“Didn’t Nobody Give a Shit What Happened to Carlotta” by James Hannaham. If they have difficulty reading AAVE, urge them to listen to the audiobook. Either way, it’s well worth the effort.

She—and the rest of the Musk/Trump/Thiel/Vance/Vought/Miller regime—have been emboldened by the likes of Itamar Ben-Gvir. If genocide’s such a good policy for Gaza, why not bring it home to the USA? After all, it commands broad popular support, doesn’t it?

There will come a day when people around the world will ask: “How could ordinary Americans possibly NOT have known what was happening?”

And the answer will be: “They knew.”

Maps available on #WMATA website just totally suck. Only available in one direction; stops mislabeled; routes often display impossible diagonals where no diagonal avenue exists in real life.

And USA would have to “lend” a B-2 bomber or two, since Israel does not have bombers that could carry the bunker-busters.

But isn’t preclearance to be performed by the (now flagrantly scofflaw) US Department of Justice? Why would they seek to enforce any aspect of the VRA or of the SCOTUS order in a way that doesn’t privilege white, presumptively Republican voters?
