LP #2 for these cats and the sound deepens - the foundation is vintage Duran Duran, meaning of course it’s all Nile Rodgers all the way down, just how I like it. every track is catchy and every bass line sticks to your skull, fun times. seems like they should be a bigger deal? they got the chops.

Review excerpt - What exactly was Epic Lite? Well, for one, this is the only issue that ever saw the light of day. Not terribly surprising, given that it's a Bookshelf Format humor anthology whose biggest commercial draw was not the first appearance of Evan Dorkin's Murder Family, but the great Kyle Baker, fresh off the success of the epochal Why I Hate Saturn - one of the best comics ever printed, and please consider that my strongest possible recommendation. Baker has six pages in the back of the book all about how Todd McFarlane's Spider-Man #1 would never actually appreciate in value. It's hardly news to report that Kyle Baker has big brass ones, but here's incontrovertible proof from back in the day that he definitely always has.

they forget that Republican Speakers always - always - always end up ran out of town on a rail. there’s no backend as a cherished figurehead for any Republican in that role, they all get demolished one way or another. maybe our boy has an inkling of that now.

my mom LOVED these guys, thought they were fantastic, the future of music. she liked a lot of metal stuff I couldn’t get into … I still don’t “get it” but I can’t lie they do remind me of her.

rather than they believe they’re invincible forever, I think it makes more sense that the large part of these chuds believe they’re in a rolling audition for some kind of Fox News sinecure - like how you know the Secretary of Defense thinks he’s going to get a prime time weekday slot when this over.
